[the chuckle that comes from his lips is dry, and is the first sound he's made since she began to spoke. he has been listening carefully, weighing her words. not everything she says is something he agrees with, but it is enough that she speaks of advisers, that there is the stance that knowing the worst is crucial.]

No, who would want to be there? A plague cannot be met in Parliament to set bounds for living.

[his guard isn't any less high, but he leans a little more forward in his chair, setting his folded hands on the table.]

If I may speak frankly, all of what you have said convinces me of one solid thing. at least: the Mirrorbound need an acknowledged voice. Not the Coven hearing individual concerns, but more of a say in things that happen, a seat at the table, as it were.

You chose to go to that city - but as you said, we have no answers on our bodies changing, on being plucked from places where our tasks may be greater than our individual lives. It is not often that I must extol upon a duty to one's neighbor - indeed, I am often of the thought that society is indebted to me, and not vice versa, which leads to a rather neutral status from myself. But in these most peculiar circumstances, even I must bend and state that it is a necessity to take them under consideration for what would be the most effective vessel for a positive change.

Not yet, but I am scouring the city to gain what information I may in general. It would be a simple matter to pick a specialty and go into it.

[and to bother his Witch into looking into it when writer's block filled his head.]

I would not think of this as a replacement for a royal council, but an addition. Where I came from, the King still ruled, and still had his own grouping of advisers, but the Chambers had their own say in matters as well. And he listened, to know the sentiments of his people.

[he's vastly oversimplifying it, he knows, but he can't dump a history of the Revolution on her at this point in time. she's proud, definitely noble, and he wishes that this remain favorable for now. especially if they're stepping into the battleground that is politics.]

If they are giving us the truth, then they should have nothing to fear from us requesting a more intimate look at the proceedings and opening up the idea of civil discussion. We'd simply get the same information they'd give us in a different way. And it would allow us to negotiate the debt we owe them from their hospitality. Whether they see it the same way, however...that remains to be seen.

As much as any ally of the city may speak against an ill turn. Their matters are our own, but our matters become theirs in turn.

[he pauses for a moment.]

Our debts would be a matter to address sooner rather than later - if we were the ones to bring it up, it leaves them less room to blindside us with whatever cost they want to extract. And if they try to deny it, say it comes from good will alone - then they should be able to swear to that effect, and be held to it.

My lady, every word you are speaking falls upon my ears as a welcome echo of my own thoughts.

[he closes his eyes briefly, and then refixes them on hers with a light in them.]

Such tasks cannot be completed alone. You might consider me among your allies on this side of things.
